Public Comment

P.W./Bishop Museum Contract Amendment

Moved by Supervisor Bear and seconded by Supervisor Lent to approve Amendment No. 2 to the Contract between the County of Inyo and the Bishop Museum and Historical Society extending the term of the Contract from April 30, 2002, to June 30, 2003; and authorize the Chairperson to sign contingent upon the appropriate signatures being obtained.  Motion carried unanimously.

Planning Dept./ Comments on Sierra Nevada Framework Review

The Planning Director, Mr. Chuck Thistlethwaite, reviewed the letter regarding the County’s response to the Focus Area Summaries of the Sierra Nevada Framework Review Team.  Supervisor Arcularius expressed concerns with the use of the term “sufficiently” in regard to the incorporation of the summaries.  She indicated that since she has not reviewed the summaries she did not feel comfortable in determining the “sufficiency” of the detail and asked if the word “sufficiently could be removed and the sentence read “…have been sufficiently incorporated…”  Moved by Supervisor Dorame and seconded by Supervisor Hambleton to approve the letter to the U.S. Forest Service conveying the County’s comments on the Focus Area Summaries of the Sierra Nevada Framework Review Team as amended to remove the word “sufficiently;” and authorize the Chairperson to sign.  Motion carried unanimously.
